Lead Technician required to join large Multi-Disciplinary company in their Manchester office. The company undertakes consultancy work in all aspects of structural and building engineering, are fully conversant with the use of all types of construction methods and building materials, and are active in promoting research in the development of new aspects of construction. The role will involve working under the direction of the Senior Architect within their Prisons team. The daily deliverables will include the Technical Assesor role of assessng documents submitted by the develop and construct contractor for technical compliance with HMP Standards. The role also requires designing/modifying facilities to include in tendering information. The successful candidate will be required to attend meetings on Prison Sites and in Consultants offices. There will also be survey work to be completed on prison sites around the UK. Ideally candidates will have previously worked as a Technical Assessor as well as Architectural Technician (preferably member of MBIAT) , have knowledge of Prison Services Design Manual (Core Desk Requirement). Basic Security Clearance will also be required.
