Senior Chartered Structural/Civil Engineer required to join large Multi-Disciplinary company in their Warrington office. The company undertakes consultancy work in all aspects of structural and building engineering, are fully conversant with the use of all types of construction methods and building materials, and are active in promoting research in the development of new aspects of construction. Summary Job Description Project of lead engineer role to work on major new build nuclear facilities In support of the multi billion pound UK decommissioning programme. The candidate will work as part of a 40 man team of civil and structural engineers and technicians. The role will involve leading a small team, client liaison and close interaction with engineers from other disciplines, particularly mechanical. The work typically involves major reinforced concrete and steel structures designed to resist seismic and extreme environmental loads. Currently there is a particular need for the detailed steelwork design of large 400t+ modules to retrieve and process radioactive waste. Experience of Nuclear projects would be an advantage. Candidate Specification Chartered Engineer (MICE or MIStructE) Heavy industrial design or bridge engineering experience essential, nuclear preferred. Strong experience in heavy steelwork and detailing is also preferable although other roles are available. This is a permanent position but strong contract candidates will be considered.
